Carlota García Lagares

Technician
Carlota García Lagares is a student in the Dual Degree program in Agricultural and Food Engineering and Forest Engineering and Natural Environment, as well as the Master’s in Forest Engineering from the University of Santiago de Compostela.
In 2026, she was hired as a specialist research technician, participating in the updating and management of spatial databases related to local infrastructure and equipment in the province of Lugo.
Her Forest Engineering Final Degree Project, titled “Evaluation of Different Forest Inventory Methodologies in the Estimation of Fundamental Stand Variables,” analyzes the efficiency of various inventory methods, providing criteria to optimize plot design and improve decision-making in forest management. This work was recognized with the award at the 10th Engineering and Rural Women’s Degree Final Project Competition of the USC’s School of Engineering (EPSE), as well as with an honorable mention at the 5th Forestry Innovation Awards, granted by Ence and the Chamber of Commerce.
Additionally, she has experience in topographic surveys, as well as in cadastral corrections and certifications.
