Beatriz Guimarey Fernández

Beatriz is forestry Engineer and holds a Master degree in Sustainable Land Planning by the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). In 2009 she joined the Land Lab (LaboraTe) of the research group Te-Bio.
She began her career specializing in the capture and analysis of geospatial data and information for land-use planning, also collaborating on numerous projects carried out by the technological platform of the Territorial Information System (SIT) of the USC.
Moving from territorial analysis, she went on to collaborate in European R&D&I projects in the field of land and rural resource management, as well as rural governance. Her professional activity is mainly structured around three strategic domains: accelerating knowledge transfer and innovation, improving and designing public policies with an impact on rural areas, and rural governance and development. Additionally, she is part of the communications team of the Land Lab, coordinating outreach content and activities.
In line with the above, since 2015 Bea is an active member of the EU CAP Network | EIP-AGRI (formerly EIP-Agri Service Point). Promoted by the European Commission, EIP-AGRI connects farmers, foresters, advisors, researchers, businesses, citizens and other actors with the aim of helping to build solid knowledge flows and accelerate innovation in agriculture, forestry and rural areas. Within EIP-AGRI, Bea leads Division D, thematically focused on key socioeconomic challenges in rural areas, such as generational renewal, employment, equality, and the promotion of the circular bioeconomy and sustainable forestry. She also takes part in the organisation and facilitation of knowledge-transfer activities (focus groups, seminars and workshops).
