Eduardo José Corbelle Rico holds a PhD in Forest Engineering from the University of Santiago de Compostela (extraordinary doctoral award in the academic year 2009-2010), with the thesis “Abandonment of agriculture and changes in soil cover”, of which professors Rafael Crecente Maseda and Inés Santé Rivera were advisors He currently works as an associate professor (profesor contratado doctor) in Department of Agricultural & Forest Engineering of the University of Santiago de Compostela. The majority of his teaching is linked to bachelor and master degrees in the Higher Polytechnic School of Engineering (campus of Lugo), in courses related to the use of geospatial information technologies.
His lines of research include the study of historical transformations of land use and landscape changes and the study of rural land markets. Since 2017 he is a member of the Science, Nature and Society section of the Galician Culture Council and since 2022 he is affiliated to the Interuniversity Research Center for Atlantic Cultural Landscapes (CISPAC).
