Guillermina Fernández Villar holds a Degree and a Master in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Santiago de Compostela.
She has been a member of the Laboratory of Territory and the Research Group GI-1934 TB (Territory and Biodiversity) since 2024 as researcher, and currently working as a predoctoral researcher since 2025. Her thesis focuses on the role that agrarian support entities play in accompanying people who have recently entered the sector—namely new entrants—thereby contributing in a broader sense to generational renewal in agriculture research. She collaborates with the group on research projects that address the same topic.
Her future lines of work will focus on intergenerational knowledge transfer and how participatory action research can contribute to this process and to the development of territorial governance. In addition, she aims to investigate how agroecological systems fit within a new agricultural paradigm in which participation, co-creation, and global sustainability are central, with the goal of ultimately contributing to the design of policies and projects at local and regional levels that can sustain the aforementioned systems.
