Alicia Cañizares Sánchez, LaboraTe member and student at
the Polytechnic School of Lugo
(university of Santiago de Compostela), reached the second
prize in the tenth edition of National awards 'San Isidoro'
for final projects of Topographic Engineering awarded by
the COITT,
the official college of this discipline of the engineering.
Cañizares won the award after competing with papers submitted
from universities of whole Spain in which this degree is
taught. This project, which was tutored by professor María
J. Iniesto Alba, is titled 'Geometric study of deformations
with the help of laser scanning technology. Application to
the Roman Wall of Lugo.'
They both were given their awards in Madrid, during the
celebrations of the feast of St. Isidore of Seville, patron
saint of engineers surveying technicians.
