The opening ceremony of the Master in Sustainable Land Planning,
will take place on September 23 in the assembly hall of
the Higher Polytechnic School. It will start at 17h. Admission is free.
During the ceremony, Prof. Domingo Gómez Orea will deliver
the inaugural lecture on "Spatial planning as a framework:
the landscape as a new paradigm of quality of life." The
event will also feature the participation of Mr. Juan José
Casares Long, rector of the University of Santiago de Compostela,
Mr. Javier Bueno Lema, director of the Higher Polytechnic School,
Ms. Elvira López Mosquera, director of the IBADER
and Rafael Crecente Maseda, coordinator of the master.
Mr. Gómez Orea
holds a PhD in agricultural engineering and is professor
of Environment and Spatial Planning at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain). His contributions to the field include over 30 books, 50 technical and scientific articles, 60 presentations at conferences and the management of 11 national research projects.
