The LaboraTe has participated with two communications on the 7th congress on Virtual Cities and Territories.

Researchers Vasco André Barbosa and Andrés García Lamparte have participated from 11th to 13th of October in the 7th edition of the Congress on Virtual Cities and Territories, which took place in Lisbon (Portugal), with the communications entitled "The evolution of land law in rural settlement areas in Galicia, Spain" and "Analysis of the evolution of small urban areas using cluster analysis and logistic regression".

This congress has been celebrated since the year 2005 and serves as a forum to deal with issues related with the application of new technologies to the fields of architecture, urbanism and planning. This year’s edition took place at the Nova University of Lisbon and has been organized by the Research Center on Geography and Regional Planning of this university in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Coimbra.

170 participants of 30 different nationalities attended this edition and important personalities in this research area participated as key note speakers; such as Michael Batty, the director of the Center for Advanced Spatial Analysis of the University College of London and Professor Joseph Ferreira of the Department of Unrban Studies and Planning of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, among others.
