The F:ACTS! project
has developed an especialized training course on stakeholder involvement.
The course was carried out in Santiago de Compostela (Spain)
during October, 22th, 23th and 26th.
Several theoretical and practical issues regarding stakeholder
involvement and process management were addressed, and different
procedures and approaches were taught.
The course was taught by Esther Koopmanschap, from the
Centre for Development Innovation-WUR
and Vincent Tiel Groenestege, from the Dienst Landelijk Gebied.
Both teachers have wide experience in broad planning contexts
at local, regional and international level. Around 20 participants
from the project partners attended the course, among them
several members from the Land Laboratory, research group
of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
Once again it was highlighted the importance of strengthening
the skills and capabilities needed for increasing stakeholder
involvement, something that agents in charge of promoting
territorial planning activities lack more frequently than
desired.
