The conference was organized by the ReVolta research network, a multidisciplinary initiative formed by research groups from the universities of Vigo and Santiago de Compostela. The Land Laboratory (LaboraTe) is one of the members of ReVolta.

During this conference new strategies and policies in order to "overcome the limits of the property and mobilize the resources and the productive potential of rural communities in a sustainable way" were sought.

Besides several roundtables, other type of events were held, as a fieldwork session that took place in San Salvador de Asma (municipality of Chantada, Spain) in which it was studied the availability of land property data, its past evolution and its current state.
