Last November 16th and 17th the conference
"The land property: from history for the future." was held.
In this conference it was conmemorated the 30th
anniversary of the publication of the book "The land property in Galicia, 1500-1936"
("La propiedad de la tierra en Galicia, 1500-1936"),
written by the historian Ramón Villares and a milestone
in the field of the history of Galicia.
The conference was organized by the ReVolta research network,
a multidisciplinary initiative formed by research groups
from the universities of Vigo and Santiago de Compostela.
The Land Laboratory (LaboraTe) is one of the members of ReVolta.
During this conference new strategies and policies in order
to "overcome the limits of the property and mobilize the
resources and the productive potential of rural communities
in a sustainable way" were sought.
Besides several roundtables, other type of events were held,
as a fieldwork session that took place in San Salvador de Asma (municipality of Chantada, Spain)
in which it was studied the availability of land property
data, its past evolution and its current state.
