Multiplier Event of the ERASMUS + SFATE Project in Santiago de Compostela.

The Galician Regional Ministry of Education, University and Vocational Training, has just celebrated a multiplier event on the 23rd of November at the Integrated Training Centre of Vocational Training “Compostela” in Santiago de Compostela. The event was aimed at disseminating the results of the SFATE project. Students and teachers from the vocational training branches of agriculture and electronics and electricity attended the event together with representatives of agriculture cooperatives and other associations related to agriculture. Representatives of the Federation of Family Agriculture Schools of Galicia and the Land Laboratory of the University of Santiago de Compostela, two of the 6 partners of the SFATE project (together with the Regional Ministry), also participated in the event.

After some welcoming words of Manuel Corredoira, General Director of Vocational Training, José Manuel Campos from EFA Galicia presented the SFATE web portal. This portal is aimed at disseminating information on smart farming technologies, the employment opportunities associated to them and the training resources which can be used to acquire the needed skills to work with these technologies. After the presentation of the portal, Andrés Manuel García from the Land Laboratory, presented the conclusions of the SFATE final report, which was made from the analysis of the information which was gathered in the web portal. The report will be available by the end of this year in the SFATE web portal.

The event concluded with a round table on the contribution of vocational training centers to smart farming technologies and the new employment opportunities in rural areas.
