The Laboratorio do Territorio (LaboraTe) from the University of Santiago de Compostela, just finished giving the IVth Course on GIS with Quantum GIS. The course was offered online, between Mai 18th and June 3rd, and it is included in the collaboration agreement between the Provincial Council of Lugo and the University of Santiago de Compostela for updating and expanding the Local Facilities and Infrastructure Survey (EIEL).
More than 20 people from technical and administrative staff of local administration were trained in the most advanced techniques for using and processing geographic information. They gained skills in downloading and processing geographic data and in generating geographic information and maps.
The promotion of this technology among the local administration staff will lead to spread existing cartographic resources offered by different public entities and to improve the exchange of geographic information.
