Ceremony VII Edition Rafael Crecente Awards


The ceremony for the VII edition of the Rafael Crecente Awards will take place on Monday, November 25th, at 18:30 in the School of Engineering (EPSE) in Lugo.
 
The event, which will be held in the EPSE Auditorium, is open to the public. The agenda includes a brief presentation of the awarded proposals and a keynote speech by Professor Francisco Javier Sanz Larruga, a renowned expert in administrative and environmental law at the University of A Coruña. Professor Sanz Larruga will discuss coastal planning and management in Galicia. The ceremony will conclude with a light cocktail.
 
The winners of this year's awards are:
  • First Prize: Alejandro Álvarez Fernández for his work "Establishment of a silvopastoral system in the public forest of Rascalobos (Traba de Laxe, A Coruña)"
  • Second Prize: Lucía Gómez Taboada for her proposal "Evaluation of the behavior of potential fire in pine stands".

In addition, an honorable mention was awarded to Fernando Cabana Porto for "Genomic analyses in natural populations of Arnica montana L."

The "Rafael Crecente" Awards for Proposals on Innovative Territorial Management are organized by the IBADER (Institute of Biodiversity and Rural Development) and the Land Lab (GI-1934 TB) of the University of Santiago de Compostela (Campus Terra, Lugo). Two awards are granted, with formal recognition through a diploma and a prize of €2,000 and €1,000, respectively. The awards aim to promote the development of innovative ideas related to rural development, environmental conservation, improvement of agricultural production in a broad sense, and contributions to sustainable territorial management.
