Xurxo Loureiro Veira, participated last Tuesday 19 of November in the second day of the cycle of symposia organized by the RIA Foundation at its headquarters in Santiago de Compostela.
The cycle of symposia complements the activity that the RIA Foundation has carried out in the past, gathering expert knowledge and evaluating territorial instruments in Galicia. The goal was to understand existing territorial frameworks and identify areas for further analysis. As a result, potentials, weaknesses, challenges and priorities of the Galician territory were identified, and a series of strategies were proposed.
In this new phase the aim is to identify themes, agree on positions, and generate policies to configure a territorial approach for the development and protection of the Galician land in the upcoming decades. This phase is open to a wider audience through the organization of conferences and round tables.
This symposium discussed territory and mobility and experts in different areas participated. The introduction to the Galician context was based on the results achieved in the previous phase and ended with a panel of experts with Pedro Calaza, Alfonso Díaz Revilla and Margarita Novales.
Two initiatives of territorial interest were also presented at the event, a first one on mobility in non-urban areas in Catalonia by Pau Noy, and a second on the green infrastructure of Valencia by David Estal. The event ended with a round table where all attendees exchanged perspectives on galician territory and mobility.
