Andrés Manuel García Lamparte has made bachelor studies on Agriculture Engineering and degree studies on Forest Engineering at University of Santiago de Compostela. In the year 2006, he started working as GIS technician at the SIT of the University of Santiago de Compostela. In 2007 he became part of the Land Laboratory of this same university where he participated as research assistant in the SIMULA project. Andres’ work in SIMULA gave as a result a thesis on Cellular Automata Models for the simulation of urban growth in Galicia, for which he was awarded his PhD in 2011. Andrés keeps developing his researcher career at the Land laboratory, working in land use change dynamics analysis and modelling, developing spatial decision support systems and spatial analysis tools
