The cross-border cooperation project GREENSEED, in which the University of Santiago de Compostela participates through Land Lab, has launched a series of surveys aimed at professionals and organisations from strategic sectors in rural areas of Galicia and Northern Portugal.
The initiative aims to identify the main entry barriers, needs and success stories that may serve as inspiration for the design of future tools to support entrepreneurship and the bioeconomy in the territory in:
- Extensive livestock farming: cattle, sheep, goats and pasture-raised pigs
- Chestnut – Olive
- Horticulture – Fruit trees
- Beekeeping
- Bio-waste composting
- Resin
This survey is aimed at professionals, self-employed individuals, cooperatives, companies, and other key stakeholders connected to any of the sectors.
The questionnaire, which takes approximately 8 minutes to complete, seeks to gather first-hand information from the sector in order to achieve three main objectives:
- Identify barriers to entry: Determine the difficulties and challenges involved in starting an activity within the sector.
- Map real needs: Understand the resources, training, and support that professionals feel are lacking in their day-to-day work.
- Highlight best practices: Compile sustainable management models and successful initiatives that can be replicated.
Impact on the Territory and Knowledge Transfer
The information gathered through this survey will be a key tool for the implementation of the future Territorial Entrepreneurship Support Ecosystems (ETEBs), the establishment of pilot experimentation areas, and the development of the Data Terra digital platform.
